MORE than 30 staff from a leading UK retailer have helped reorganise the warehouse of a Worcester hospice.

Company managers from Argos recently joined nurses and warehouse staff from St Richard’s Hospice, who care for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with life-threatening illnesses, to sort through the large volume of donations in its 18,000sq ft warehouse.

It took eight hours to reorganise the wide range of public donations, which included furniture, antiques, books, clothes and bric-a-brac.

Shaun Sanders, Argos store manager, said: “St Richard’s provides a fantastic level of support to its patients and their families, so it was a pleasure for us to be able to help.

“As it happens, the team from Argos was able to use its extensive knowledge and experience within a retail environment to successfully rise to the challenge, getting the warehouse in shape to help continue the vital work the charity undertakes.”

Dan Corns, commercial director at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We were delighted to welcome the team from Argos to help us re-organise our warehouse and are very grateful for the support.

“The new system is making it so much easier for us to manage the large volume of donations we receive, so we can stock our stores with high quality pre-loved items.”
