Cloudbusting is top Kate tribute

Worcester Editorial 13th Jun, 2017   0

THE ICONIC music of Kate Bush will be brought to Huntingdon Hall as part of a critically acclaimed show this Saturday.

Inspired by Bush’s ground-breaking theatrical concerts, Cloudbusting has become the UK’s longest running tribute and have played in front of audiences across the UK.

With Michael Mayall on keyboards, Jon Norris on guitar, Kevin Cook on drums and Dave Roberts on bass, the band recreate every magical element of a Kate Bush performance with the most authentic emulations available.

Whilst Mandy Watson, who plays Kate, captures every nuance of the studio recordings with uncanny precision and negotiates Kate’s wide vocal range with ease.

Cloudbusting will perform all the singer’s classics, including Wuthering Heights, This Woman’s Work, Running Up That Hill, Wow, Babooshka, Hounds Of Love, The Man With the Child in His Eyes, Cloudbusting and Army Dreamers.

Mandy fell in love with Kate’s voice when she saw her on Top of the Pops, but then discovered there was much more to her than her distinctive voice.

She said: “Her lyrics evoke stories and imagery that entwine effortlessly with beautiful challenging melodies.”

BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo added: “If you missed Kate Bush in 2014, go and see Cloudbusting as it’s the next best thing.”

The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £16.50 for adults and £15 for concessions.
