Looking for something fun to do this coming bank holiday? We’ve compiled some of best family events across Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. Time to get planning for some half term fun…

West Midlands Safari Park

Brimming with Halloween decorations and hundreds of pumpkins as the Pumpkin Patch returns! This year, you’ll also get to meet our new pumpkin scarecrow character, ‘Patch’, and see his live Pumpkin Party stage show at selected times throughout the day. Spooky Explorers can also take part in the ‘Perils of the Pumpkin Patch’ Scratchcard Trail, to find the magical, missing pumpkins!

Coventry

  • The Spooky Swamp
  • When: Friday 22nd- Sunday 31st October
  • Where: Stonebridge Golf Centre

Launching as a brand-new outdoor event to kick off the Halloween season early, the spooky swamp is a family experience set to raise the spirits in a spine-tingling event like no other. There will be beautifully lit landscapes to guide guests on a Halloween pathway, an eerie storytelling feature for children in the Spooky Stories Tipi, face-painting, and a traditional food market to indulge in. A ghoulish adventure for all ages to enjoy.




Warwick Castle

As one of Britain’s finest medieval fortresses, experience a history centric fun day with spectacular shows lined up for every age. There are storytelling sessions to explore the castle’s 1,100 year history, featured nature activities with the castle boasting the UK’s largest bird of prey show, and set in beautifully landscaped grounds, families can also watch dynamic displays of aerial acrobatics with the ultimate backdrop for breathtaking shows. Not one to be missed.

Leamington

Leamington’s Pumpkin Path returns to the Town Centre from 23rd October until 31st October with over £500 worth of prizes up for grabs! This fun, family trail will take you around the Town to gather clues and discover where to find the ‘Scary Post Box’ so that you can post your entry form. The Grand Prize will be £200 worth of treats for the family but there are lots more prizes to be won.  Entry forms will be available from October 21st to pick up at participating shops or from the stand on the Upper Mall in Royal Priors.


Redditch

A SPECTACULAR week-long event to light up Arrow Valley Park is being promised by Redditch Borough Council instead of its usual firework display to mark Guy Fawkes Night. Called ‘Autumn Celebrations’ it will run from October 25-30 and feature a free light trail, music, children’s rides and food stalls every evening from 5pm until 8.30pm for families to enjoy.

Droitwich

Prepare for the spooky season this half term by bringing the kids to our Pumpkin Festival! Pick your own pumpkins from the field then wheelbarrow them to the carving barn for some unique styling. Your ticket also includes entry into the Scary Fairy Trail & the Weird & Wonderful Maze!

Merry Hill

The renowned Gandey’s Circus returns to Brierley Hill with a brand-new production for a spooktastic experience this half term! With a specially selected international cast of skeletons, vampires, Jack o’lanterns and Circus Artistes, expect thrilling danger acts to big production numbers in spooky performances that will have something for everyone in the family. With showtimes varying on different times, this event is a must-see!

Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm

The whole family can enjoy a spooky half term at the Butterfly Farm, with plenty of spiders, pumpkins and creepy crawlies to keep the whole family entertained! For the first time visitors can see baby Rhinoceros Rat Snakes which have just hatched and are on display with their parents in Minibeast Metropolis. Along with the baby snakes, visitors can also see plenty of creepy crawlies and pumpkins during half term including the Pumpkin Patch Spider. Originating from Colombia, the Spider’s name is derived from its distinctive, brightly coloured orange and yellow abdomen markings. Although small, this Spider has plenty of attitude!

Tudor World – Stratford

Stratford-upon-Avon gets splendidly spooky this Halloween, when one of its most haunted buildings hosts an array of creepy events for all the family to enjoy.mDaytime visitors can take part in a ‘witch’s quiz’, complete with a chance to win a ghoulish prize. A fortune teller and storyteller will be on hand on selected days too. Nighttime entertainment comes in the form of family-friendly ghost tours and, later still, adults-only ghost tours and ghost hunts.

Pershore

To celebrate the much anticipated live tour of Sir Cliff Richard, the Number 8 Community Arts Centre in Pershore will be showing Cliff’s Great 80 Tour which will be broadcast live from the Royal Albert Hall! On the big screen, the show will be followed by a special encore matinee screening at the weekend. For an evening of indulging Cliff Richard’s incredible energy and on stage passion on stage, guests will be swept off their feet and families will be left swaying in the aisles.

Worcester

  • Light Night 2021
  • When: Tuesday 19th- Thursday 21st October
  • Where: Worcester City Centre

Routinely anticipated in Worcester as a classic event to mark the change in season. This year Light Night Worcester will feature four brand new large-scale projections created specifically for Worcester, transforming buildings in the city centre and playful performances will light up the surrounding streets. This is a free event and will be a wholesome evening to spend time with family and friends.

Cadbury World

Join in the spooky fun at this live entertainment show, Freddo’s Halloween Spooktacular, where the famous frog will teach visitors new tricks in his haunted mansion, with the help of some string and a splash of slippery slime. Young ghouls are encouraged to don a hauntingly good costume for the daily fancy dress competition.

O2 Academy

  • Caribou LIVE
  • When: Monday 25th October
  • Where: O2 Academy Birmingham

As a living legend of electronic and dance music, Birmingham will be treated with a live performance from Caribou this October half term.  Having more than a decade of tours under his belt, the o2 will be hosting his energy-driven show, and with the minimum age of entry being 14, this promises to be a roof-raising event for teens and families who live to dance !

Birmingham

Hosted by Comedy Dining, this event in Bearwood brings together two iconic shows; Only Fools & Horses and Fawlty Towers to present Fools @ Fawlty Towers! With professional actors portraying classic characters Basil, Del Boy, Rodney, Manuel, Boycie, Trigger, Sybil and more  during a three course meal, this is an incredibly entertaining evening for the family that will leave guests feeling ‘lovely jubbly’.

Digbeth

There’s never a better time to pick up some skates than this October half term for the ultimate ice-skating experience has arrived at Luna Springs. With a 20 x 10 ice rink and the skate hall decked in fairy lights for a true winter vibe, Digbeth Ice Rink offers different packages to suit families of all sizes. There will be guaranteed slips and slides in what will be a laughter-filled venue!

LegoLand Discovery Centre

  • Brick Or Treat

  • Where: Legoland Discovery Centre, Birmingham
