£4,000 boost for the hospice

Worcester Editorial 19th Mar, 2020   0

THE MORRISONS Foundation has donated £4,000 to St Richard’s Hospice, a local charity which provides care to people with serious progressive illness and their families in Worcestershire.

The support from the Morrisons Foundation has enabled the charity to install new ambulance doors into the hospice.

The new entrance doors will create a dry indoor arrival area to the in-patient unit.

St Richard’s Hospice fund-raising director, Tricia Cavell said, “We hugely appreciate this wonderful donation from the Morrisons Foundation towards our Build 2020 appeal. The new ambulance entrance doors will mean we can now ensure a warm welcome for patients and families to the In-patient Unit.”

Sarah Hayward, Community Champion at the Morrisons store in Droitwich presented the donation to the charity.

She said, “I’m really pleased that we were able to help such a great local charity. Knowing that our support will make a genuine difference to their activities and the comfort of their patients makes me extremely proud. Helping local charities is at the heart of what the Foundation is all about and I’m so happy that we can provide this grant.”

The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarket in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help improve people’s lives. Since launching over £29 million has been donated to hundreds of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.

Local charities are encouraged to visit www.morrisonsfoundation.com to find out how to apply for a grant.
