A 50-YEAR-OLD man had to be rescued from a muddy lock in Worcester after heĀ fell in.

Emergency services were called to the Blockhouse Lock at about 10am this morning (Monday).

Fire crews from Worcester, Malvern and Droitwich rescued the man using a sled and triple extension ladder. The water rescue team also attended.

He was assessed at the scene by paramedics before then being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

The lock had been previously drained, and so there was no water, but the lock was muddy and boggy.
