GAME of Thrones fans can become rulers of Crowngate Shopping Centre when it brings the official ‘Iron Throne Experience’ to Worcester.

The exclusive event launches on Friday (September 6) and will run until Sunday (September 8) at The Pod – located at the shopping centre’s Friary Walk – which will be transformed into Westeros, where guests will become immersed in all the land far west of the known world has to offer.

The epic experience kicks off from 11am to 7pm on the opening day, 10am until 6pm on Saturday and between 11am and 6pm on the final day. It is free to attend but for enthusiasts who want to get closer to the action, a three-tier experience is available.

Event-goers will have the opportunity to handle props including Don Joffrey’s crown, legendary swords Longclaw and Ice, have access to a life-size dragon skull, and of course, take a seat on the Iron Throne with professional photography to capture the moment. Tickets for this cost between £10 and £30 (starting at £5 for children) and can be purchased at the event on the day.

Mike Lloyd, centre manager, said: “In Game of Thrones, many people die in the battle to rule Westeros from the Iron Throne, but the people of Worcestershire and beyond don’t need to lose their heads to do so now we have it coming to the shopping centre.

“This is a fantastic coup for Crowngate and Worcester, as not only is this the home city of Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, but the Iron Throne Experience has only been to two other UK shopping centres before.”

“It’s set to be an amazing few days and we are thrilled to be bringing something so different to Crowngate, where people from near and far can enjoy the cult show on a new level.”

“This is definitely something Game of Thrones fans don’t want to miss,” he added.
