A plea to parade your knitting skills

Worcester Editorial 12th Nov, 2020   0

ORGANISERS of Worcester’s 2021 Big Parade elephant trail are calling on enthusiastic knitters and stitchers to start casting on for an autumn ‘makeathon’.

Worcester’s Big Parade, A Wild in Art event brought to the city by St Richard’s Hospice, is encouraging residents to donate handmade elephants to support the project.

Sara Matthews, business development manager for St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We are calling all keen knitters, stitchers and elephant lovers to get their needles at the ready and get making; especially during November when we’re all staying home to stay safe.

“We received a fantastic response to our call for handmade giraffes in 2018, from the gigantic to the cute and cuddly.

And we hope Worcester’s wonderful makers will get behind us once again so that soft toy elephants can be available during the trail in 2021 for a donation towards our care.
