ALL THE hits and more are promised when Barry Steele presents a tribute to Roy Orbison at Worcester’s Swan Theatre on Friday (June 24).
He’s the man with the sunglasses and the black suit who delivered some of the world’s darkest and most emotional ballads, yet Texas-born Orbison remains one of the most distinctive looking and sounding performers in modern music.
The show will also feature original material written but never sung by Roy Orbison, as well as chart busting hits originally made famous by the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Procol Harum, Del Shannon, ELO, Tom Petty, Chris Isaak, and the Spencer Davis Group, and a stunningly brilliant accolade as the whole cast comes together to pay homage to the original super group, The Traveling Wilburys.
Backed by a big screen and musicians, the result is an incredible fusion of 60s solid gold classics and 80s contemporary musical genius all on one stage.
The event starts at 7.30pm.
