Becky finds write stuff

Worcester Editorial 7th Oct, 2021   0

A WORCESTER woman who had a mental breakdown in 2015 and was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression has written a book about how her favourite literature and writing a daily journal helped her turn her life around.

Becky Powell, pictured, struggled to carry out simple everyday tasks and, having agoraphobia as well, found it hard to leave the house. She started writing a journal and turned to her favourite books for comfort and hope.

She started writing ‘The Crazy Bookworm’ just before the Covid pandemic struck and continued after she was furloughed from her job as a medical rep.

She now hopes it will provide inspiration and comfort to other mental health sufferers and help them get through even their darkest days. The book includes some self-help ideas that assisted her, along with some of her favourite books she has turned to during her tough times.

“I’ve always wanted to write a book and finally I have done it,” she said. “I used their stories and characters as a way to help to guide me through that awful time.”

The Crazy Bookworm is available from Amazon for £6.99.
