Breast unit bowled over by Sue's efforts

BREAST cancer patient Sue Pretty has raised £4,907.25 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven charity as a thank you for the support she has received from the Unit.

Sue, 56, from Himbleton with the help of her husband Tim and Himbleton Cricket Club organised and hosted a six a side charity cricket day which took place on August 30.

The event was called ‘Sue Pretty’s 6-a-side cricket charity day’ and was held at Himbleton Cricket Club. It included a live band, drinks, food, an auction and raffles with cricket in the sunshine – lots of socially distanced fun was had by all.

“The amazing NHS team at the Worcestershire Breast Unit have really looked after me and I cannot thank them enough,” said Sue. From my diagnosis to my operations, and then through my chemotherapy and radiotherapy I have experienced the very finest care and attention, and will always remain truly grateful.

Alexandra Craigie, fund-raising manager at Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven and adds: “Sue has raised a phenomenal amount for us with this event and we are incredibly grateful to her, her friends and Himbleton Cricket Club.

“Fund-raising like this makes such a different to our charity.  We are the only breast cancer charity in Worcestershire and our NHS breast care team works so hard to offer personalised support and care to the women and men of Worcestershire through their breast cancer diagnosis – to get this sort of support back is just incredible.”
