WORCESTER-based Sutcliffe and Co Insurance Brokers celebrate winning a £20,000 funding grant for the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, through the national Aviva Broker Community Fund.

The yearly giveaway is designed to help local projects that really matter to brokers across the country, with a cash injection to help good causes and community initiatives.

With applications for awards ranging from £2,500 all the way up to Grand Awards of £20,000, the Grace Kelly Childhood Trust hit the jackpot with the maximum funding being awarded.

The fund has been granted to help a very special project at the charity, to aid the therapeutic support work for families affected by childhood cancer, to enable them to spend much needed increased time with families, as well as starting to set up therapeutic groups in their new safe family therapy room.

Duncan Sutcliffe, managing director at Sutcliffe and Co said: “Grace Kelly Childhood Trust has always been a charity that has been close to our hearts and we have supported many fund-raising activities over the years, such as Oscar Saxelby’s treatment appeal.

“It’s an amazing scheme which Aviva runs and we’re over the moon the charity won the maximum funding!”.

Dr Jen Kelly, CEO of the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust said: “We are truly grateful to Sutcliffe and Co for the wonderful support they have given the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust over the last few years.

“We are proud we are currently able to support local families financially, practically and emotionally following the diagnosis of their child with cancer.

“The Trust receives no statutory funding, so we are reliant on our fund-raisers and supporters to help us raise the funds needed to keep our service running.

“Support from businesses, such as Sutcliffe and Co makes a big difference to the support that we are able to offer. We are also very grateful to the Aviva Broker Community Fund for giving us this funding opportunity.”

The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust is a national charity working to help children and young people affected by cancer.

Focused on early diagnosis, raising awareness, supporting families and research, it’s a charity committed to helping both cancer sufferers and their families.
