A GROUP of Worcester women, dubbed ‘The Cyclopaths,’ are set to cycle 100kilometres through the streets of London in aid of Women v Cancer.
The team made up of Jilly Witcomb, Susanna Hocking, Kate Cunliffe, Cazza Hill, Sally Watts will be taking on the challenge on Saturday (May 27).
They will be cycling six and a half hours at night through the capital, setting off from Windsor Castle at 10.30pm sporting bike and body lights and glow in the dark accessories.
The fund-raising challenge brings together thousands of women who are affected by cancer to support the partnership between Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer.
Kate Cunliffe, who has battled cancer herself, said: “We have been training as a team since January and it was hard at first, especially in winter and dragging ourselves out of bed in the dark and the cold.
“We have cycled in snow, frost, rain, wind and are very glad that the summer is now nearly here and are hoping for a nice warm night in May.
“We are not seasoned cyclists but we have trained hard together to be ready for the challenge.
“We are doing this both as women and as mums. There is not one of us that haven’t been affected in some way by cancer either through family or close friends and we are doing this for them and the thousands of women who fight this disease every year,” she added.
