Caring Worcester shop staff raise cash for Acorns

SUPPLIERS and customers of Gwillam’s Farm Shop raised cash for Acorns Children’s Hospice over the festive period.

A Christmas tree with coloured baubles was set up in the shop with each bauble representing a prize, all of which had been donated by Gwillam’s many suppliers and friends.

Customers were able to purchase the baubles at different prices and in return received a prize to that value or more.

This was supported with a raffle with prizes such as food hampers, beers and ciders, beauty treatments, dinner vouchers and much more with the top prize being a voucher for four people to go to Worcester Races.

The fund-raising was conducted over a weekend in December within the shop and both suppliers and customers gave very generously.

A cheque for £850 was handed over by caring staff to Martin Blackaller, Acorns community fund-raising officer for Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
