A WORCESTER businesswoman beat hundreds of nominations from around the world to be crowned the winner in the Inspirational Achiever category at a prestigious awards ceremony.
Caroline Balmer recently picked up the title at the Pitman Training SuperAchiever Awards after winning the public vote.
She was nominated in the annual awards after founding a dementia care service. After working in the care industry for more than 15 years and witnessing how dementia can affect a family, whist her grandmother developed Alzheimer’s disease in later life, it spurred Caroline to start working closely with the disease with view to helping others in her local community.
Through her own experience, the award winning businesswoman launched her own business to provide the high level of service she feels those in need deserve.
Her firm, Caremark, has now been running for the past 12 months and now cares for 60 customers and employs more than 30 members of staff.
Claire Barratt, who sat on the judge’s panel of Pitman Training SuperAchievers, said:
“Without doubt Caroline is truly an Inspirational Achiever of the Year.
“Completing a degree, starting and building her own business, employing 30 staff and ambition to involve herself in charity fundraising – her determination to continue to achieve is outstanding.”
