Celebrating a royal connection

Worcester Editorial 23rd May, 2019   0

A PAIR of little princes have their own claim to fame after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed the name of the newest arrival into the Royal family.

Baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is the first child for Prince Harry and his wife Megan and news of the royal birth caught the attention of two former Badsey brothers.

James and Ben Thould, who grew up in the Vale village, are also celebrating becoming first time parents with the births of babies Harrison and Archie.

Baby Harrison tipped the scales at 6lb 6oz when he was born on August 18 at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital to the delight of proud mum Rachael and dad James.

Archie arrived on November 13 at Gloucester Hospital, weighing 9lb 6oz, a first child for Ben and his wife Jen who live in Bretforton.

Both families were delighted when the unexpected royal connection was revealed earlier this month and James, who now lives in St Peter’s, said the news had come as a surprise.

“My mum was the first to tell us, I couldn’t quite believe it when it was announced the baby would be called Archie Harrison,” he said.

“We’ve had family members saying how surprised and delighted they are how the boys share the names of the new royal baby.

“We’ve always done things close together Ben and I, we moved out of home within six months of each other, we got engaged within six months of each other and became dads within six months too.”
