YOUNGSTERS from a Worcester primary school took part in an apple pressing event as part of the school’s harvest celebrations.
Year 2 pupils at Perry Wood Primary School recently learnt the process of turning fruit into juice when Tony Kennell and Arthur Rowe, from environmental organisation
Transition Worcester, brought along their juice pressing equipment to make fresh apple and pear juice from fruit donated by families and staff.
Karen King, assistant headteacher at Perry Wood Primary School, said: “We encourage all of our pupils to appreciate their local heritage and to make links between their natural environment and their daily lives.
“Seeing Tony and Arthur’s practical demonstration was a fantastic way for the children to learn how fruit juice is produced and they really enjoyed tasting it too.”
