Chance to relax at exciting exhibition

Worcester Editorial 8th Dec, 2017   0

ARTS chiefs at the city’s gallery and museum are bidding to take the stress out of Christmas shopping at an event this weekend.

From 11am to 1pm on Saturday, shoppers will be treated to a free mince pie and festive drink as they peruse the beautiful Crafted for You exhibition which showcases some of the best craft-makers in the Midlands.

A sumptuous and colourful range of jewellery, ceramics, glassware, textiles and prints are on show in the exhibition and all available to purchase, with a ten per cent discount on the special event day.

Maggie Wallace, curator of the exhibition, said: “Crafted for You is a celebration of craft with so many different makers on show – all so talented and producing beautiful wares.

“It is ideal if you are looking for a unique Christmas gift for someone special.”

There is also ten per cent off purchases all day in the fabulous Art Gallery Shop which has an excellent range of Christmas cards and gifts to suit all pockets.

All proceeds from the Gallery Shop go back into the Art Gallery and Museum, enabling them to stage a fabulous programme of exhibitions and look after the city’s rich collections.

Families are being invited to drop in to create their own festive gift boxes on December 20 with sparkles and gems or scented oranges, cones and berries – perfect for wrapping that extra special present.

Over the Christmas holiday period they can also add their hopes for 2018 to the venue’s magical Wish Tree as well as enjoying the Warhol to Walker exhibition on tour from the British Museum.

Crafted for You is on until January 27 at the museum which is open from Monday to Saturday from 10.30am to 4.30pm and admission is free.
