Changes to birth and death registration in county as centres close

Worcester Editorial 30th Mar, 2020   0

A NEW system has been introduced to register births and deaths in Worcestershire.

From today (March 30), all registration offices in the county will be closed to the public.

If you need to register a death you will need to call 01905 768181.

A registrar will then decide the chosen date/time to register the death.

The form for the funeral will be sent directly to the funeral director to avoid having to meet in person.

Birth and notice of marriage appointments are currently suspended.

Those requiring to register a birth in order to make application for benefits are now able to do so without registering the birth.

Further information on that can be found here – www.gov.uk/child-benefit/how-to-claim
