Charity chiefs in bid to create new toy stories

Worcester Editorial 5th Nov, 2019   0

ACORNS charity shops Worcester are appealing for toy donations to make sure it is fully stocked up in time for Christmas.

The shops on Mealcheapen Street and St Peters The Great Park are on the hunt for anything from Barbies to scooters to jigsaws.

Gary Pettit, head of retail at Acorns, said: “Our shop managers are telling us now is the perfect time for residents to have a good clear out.

“The festive period is a really busy time for us because people start to shop for toys to give as presents. We want to make sure our shelves are brimming with the best bargain buys and stocking fillers.”

Acorns Children’s Hospice needs £27,000 per day to provide its care and support services.

“We rely on donations to keep our shops stocked. So if you do have any games, dolls, toys, action figures or teddies in need of a new home, please donate them to your local Acorns and help families in Droitwich this Christmas,” Mr Pettit added.
