Community hospital visits suspended as Covid cases rise

Worcester Editorial 11th Sep, 2020 Updated: 11th Sep, 2020   0

VISITING at all of Worcestershire’s community hospitals and mental health wards has been suspended this weekend, health chiefs have revealed.

It follows a rise in COVID-19 cases in parts of the county and means visiting to community hospitals such as those at Worcester City’s Inpatient Unit will not take place. The situation will be reviewed again early next week.

The suspension also covers all Worcestershire’s mental health/recovery wards over this weekend

There will be some exceptions, for example visiting for patients who are receiving end of life care.

Any relatives with a visiting appointment booked for this weekend will be offered a virtual visit supported by ward staff.
