Worcester Editorial 12th Feb, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

A RETURN to the days when life was fun and the music was fabulous is set to rock the Swan Theatre later this month.

John Banner Charitable Promotions’ is holding its latest showstopping event – The Dansette Days featuring Rob Dee on Saturday, February 28 with proceeds going to an array of charities in the area.

The Dansette Days casts the audience back to the 50s and 60s when rock ‘n’ roll and heartfelt ballads filled the hit parade.

Remember when 6-5 Special and Oh Boy were on the telly, and a 45rpm single vinyl record cost six shillings and threepence? Come along and hear great hits from great artists – Rob Dee as Billy Fury (Halfway to Paradise), Vickie Lambert as Dusty Springfield (Son of a Preacher Man), Liza Starlight as Helen Shapiro (Walking Back to Happiness) and Steve Conway as Bobby Vee (Rubber Ball).

The show is the second of the year hosted by the legend that is John Banner, following The Songs of Don Williams and Patsy Cline with The Pete Boddis Country Band in January.

Further charity nights are set to take place throughout the year, with It’s Not Only Rock ‘n’ Roll With The Pontiacs coming to Huntingdon Hall on Saturday, March 28 and JB’s famous Rock ‘n’ Roll Show St George’s Day Spectacular, with a dance area, at the same venue on Thursday, April 23.

For each of tthe JBCP event’s throughout the year, starting with The Dansette Days, The Observer will be giving away a pair of tickets.
