Councillor's campaign delivers postbox

Worcester Editorial 7th Dec, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

A CAMPAIGN by a hard-working Labour councillor has resulted in a new postbox for residents on a St John’s estate.

Coun Richard Udall has celebrated victory in his long campaign for a new Royal Mail postbox on the Earls Court Estate.

He started the campaign in August 2014 but thanks to his efforts, residents now have a local post point ahead of the busy Christmas period.

“I’m so pleased, it has taken a long time, I have sent many letters and had many phone conversations with Royal Mail over the issue, but they have finally agreed and installed a brand new red postbox,” Coun Udall said.

“Local people, many of whom are elderly will no longer have to walk long distances just to post a letter.

“I would like to thank Royal Mail for their help and assistance and for finally delivering a new post box, it is simply a first class service,” he added.
