CREATIVE Worcestershire County Council chiefs have sought to promote the county’s highest peak on the back of an hillarious Trip Advisor review of Ben Nevis.
Social media chiefs at County Hall swung into action following a screenshot of geniune TripAdvisor review of Ben Nevis in which the reviewer awarded the landmark one out of five for being ‘Very Steep and Too High’.
In response, Worcestershire County Council posted: “If you’re looking for something a bit ‘shorter’, where you can see the stunning views, we highly recommend visiting the Malvern Hills.”
The review (below) has been liked more than 28,000 times and retweeted more than 4,000 times with many social media users left in stitches by the anonymous reviewer’s criticism of the Scottish landmark.
“This was almost a FULL day’s climbing and my girlfriend was crying at one point,” the reviewer wrote.
“When we go to the top there was nothing there (Mount Snowdon has a pub, restaurant and toilets at its top).
“It was also cloudy at the top and the view was non-existent.”
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles with a summit 1,345 metres (4,413 ft) above sea level. Ben Nevis stands at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands, close to the town of Fort William. The summit is the highest land in any direction for 459 miles.
The mountain is a popular destination attracting an estimated 100,000 ascents a year.
