A MAN has died at Worcester Woods Country Park following an incident this morning (Wednesday)

Officers were called to the scene at about 8am following concerns for the safety of a man in the water.

Parts of the wooded area at the park remains closed as police carry out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the incident.

West Mercia Police have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed two ambulances, two paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene at 7.50am this morning.

“On arrival we discovered one male patient who was in a critical condition,” the spokesperson said.

“Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support which continued en route to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

“However, shortly after arrival it became apparent nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased.”
