Evert Little Helps with grant for city college

Worcester Editorial 19th Nov, 2021   0

STAFF and students at Christopher Whitehead Language College are celebrating after being handed £900 from the Tesco Community Grant Award scheme.

The cash will go towards well-being and self-help workshops for students and staff after Tesco customers voted in store for different good causes.

Tesco St Peter’s store manager and former student Steve Winfield and Community Champion Rachel Bluck, visited the school to present a cheque to headteacher Neil Morris.

“Young people’s mental health issues have risen considerably during the last 18 months,” Mr Morris said.

“We currently don’t have the resources to engage mental health professionals to provide counselling to many of our students and staff, so this grant will make a huge difference to our school community.

“We look forward to working together with Steve and his team, from Tesco St Peter’s, in the future on other projects and fund-raising events for the school and the community.

“A massive thank-you to each and every Tesco customer who voted for us.”
