Fostering and adoption charity to be launched this weekend

A NEW fostering and adoption charity is set to launch at Worcester Cathedral to help find homes for children in need.

Held during National Adoption Week, a special, all-age event at 11am on Saturday, October 22, will launch Home for Good, a charity which will bring together churches across the city to get behind the vision to find a home for every child that needs one.

With 4,000 children waiting for adoption in the UK, the charity raises awareness of the need for foster and adoptive parents, encourages families to provide loving homes for the children in care, and equips the Church to offer welcoming communities for them.

The Bishop of Worcester, Dr. John Inge, who will speak at the event, said: “Home for Good is a wonderful initiative which I am delighted to support wholeheartedly.

“Fostering and adoption give a chance in life to young people who, through no fault of their own, have no family to care for them.”

Pop up stands with information about fostering and adoption will be available in the Cathedral with a gift activity pack to keep children entertained and food and drink afterwards.

Member of All Saints and a Local Authority Foster Carer, Joy Pollock, said: “This is an event for anyone with an interest in this area of work.

“It’s an opportunity to come together as one church in Worcester and establish a Worcester Local Movement of the national Home for Good initiative.”
