COUNCIL chiefs have handed Worcester residents an early Christmas gift with free parking in city car parks.

Shoppers taking advantage of late night opening in city shops on Thursday evenings will be able to park free of charge after 6pm on Thursdays up up to and including December 21.

And starting on Sunday, December 3 shoppers will be able to pay for two hours on Sundays and get the rest of the day free. This offer will run up to and including Sunday, December 24.

Coun Joy Squires, Chair of Environment Committee, said: “Worcester’s city centre is the ideal destination for all your Christmas shopping, with its range of unique independent stores as well as the large high street brands.

“Our festive parking offer will help to take the pressure off your Christmas budget, while you shop.”
