Give your views on where cash would be best spent

Worcester Editorial 8th Nov, 2017   0

CITY residents are being urged to have their say on Worcester City Council’s future spending plans.

Council chiefs have launched a major consultation and they want to hear what residents, communities and businesses think should be the top spending priorities for 2018/19.

A number of public drop in sessions will be taking place next week. The first takes place on Monday from midday to 2pm at the Guildhall followed by another event at the Guildhall from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday.

A drop-in session will then be taking place at the Lyppard Grange Community Centre from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday and then from 6pm until 8pm at St. Peter’s Village Hall on Thursday.

Shane Flynn, Corporate Director Finance and Resources at Worcester City Council, said: “The City Council’s priority is to improve service delivery while at the same time balancing the books.

“We have got some tough decisions to make, so we’re keen to hear views from residents and businesses on how they would like to see our budget spent – and any ideas they have for how we could generate more income.”

Visit www.worcester.gov.uk/voiceit to have your say online. The consultation closes on Friday, November 24.

Residents can also pick up a paper copy of the consultation at The Guildhall, The Hive or Perdiswell Leisure Centre.
