A WORCESTER multi-sports programme has been deemed a success after hundreds of youngsters flocked to take part in the half term-activities on offer.

During the week, a total of 507 children and parents attended the 15 free sessions across 11 community centres in Worcester run by Freedom Leisure, almost 25 per cent more than last year.

Working in partnership with the Albion Foundation, Freedom Leisure invited local children and families to get involved with a wide range of sports including kwik cricket, rugby, tennis, basketball and more.

Open to youngsters aged two to 18, the sessions were tailored to suit all age arranges and abilities taking part.

Participants had the chance to develop their skills through multi-skills, parachute games, ball games and much more. Whilst older children had the opportunity to get active and play sport with their friends.

Qualified and experienced coaches from The Albion foundation delivered the sessions and were on hand to motivate and support all participants.

Freedom Leisure Regional Development Manager, Hannah Cox, said: “We would like to say a massive thankyou to everyone who has helped support our February multi-sport activities, particularly to the coaches from the Albion Foundation.

“We also like to give a special thanks to everyone who came along and we really hope everyone enjoyed the sessions. As a not-for-profit leisure trust we aim to provide a range of free and low cost opportunities for all to get involved with sport and we look forward to running more sessions very soon.”

More multi-sport sessions will be available during the Easter Holidays starting from Tuesday, March 29 until Friday, April 8, Monday to Fridays.
