THERE was no danger of parents nodding off as they watched their children pull out all the stops in their annual nativity play.

Youngsters performed Red Hill CE Primary’s latest twist on the traditional Christmas story, called The Sleepy Shepherd, this month.

A total of 30 reception class youngsters joined children from Year One to tell the story about a shepherd who could not stay awake with a mixture of songs, including Five Woolly Sheep and Somebody is Snoring.

Teacher Anita Gullen said: “It was brilliant as it went very well and I was really proud of them all. The parents also reallly enjoyed it as we got a lot of positive feedback.”
