Hopmarket to host free festive fun

Worcester Editorial 27th Nov, 2021   0

WORCESTER’s Hopmarket – home to an eclectic mix of shops – is organising a free festive event in the run up to Christmas.

The retail space on The Foregate will welcome back Spare Room Arts on Saturday, December 4.

The family friendly event from 11am to 4pm will include a host of Christmas arts and crafts including painting glass lantern jars and making eco friendly Christmas crackers.

This follows on from Spare Room Arts successful summer workshops in support of Worcester’s Big Parade.

Sarah Edwards, owner of Spare Room Arts said : “We are so looking forward to returning to The Hopmarket this Christmas. Our events are always hugely popular in this versatile space.

“Taking place during the city’s busy Victorian Christmas Fayre, our event will allow families a bit of tranquillity away from the main hustle and bustle of the fayre as well as dedicated – and free! – activities for children to enjoy.”

Bill Simpson, chairman of the Hopmarket Charitable Trust which owns the site said : “As an independent shopping courtyard in the heart of our community, such events are hugely important to us, bringing residents, visitors and shop tenants together.

“Spare Room Arts ran similar events in August when The Hopmarket had its elephant on show.”
