Hundreds tackle the course and the warm conditions

Worcester Editorial 15th Jun, 2018   0

HUNDREDS of runners turned out in glorious sunshine to take on the Worcester full and half marathon.

The popular race – which is now in its seventh year – followed a course through the Worcestershire countryside, starting and finishing at Sixways Stadium.

St Richard’s Hospice was the beneficiary charity for this year’s event – while a number of runners also took on fund-raising for the hospice too.

So far, more than £5,000 has been raised for St Richard’s which will help support the free care it provides to patients, their loved ones and bereaved people across Worcestershire.

Fund-raiser Alison Parkes, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in the Worcester full and half marathon – including all the fantastic volunteers. You were all amazing!”

Organised by Tempo Events and sponsored by Hewett Recruitment, the event has raised more than £45,000 since the race was launched in 2011.
