IN PICTURES: Severn reaches peak and roads remain closed

Worcester Editorial 23rd Feb, 2022   0

AS THE RIVER Severn reaches its peak in Worcester following the latest floods, we sent our photographer Marcus Mingins out into the city to capture the scene.

While there was little rain  today (Wednesday) there was plenty of water around as the city’s swans were once again free to explore more of Worcester than they are used to.

And with some of city’s car parks still underwater, commuters have also been reminded the New Road contraflow will remain in effect for the foreseeable future.

As of 5pm this evening, the following roads and bridges remain closed in the heart of the city.

Hylton Road, Tybridge Street, Sabrina Bridge, Castle Street, Severn Terrace, Croft Road, Grandstand Road, Dolday, The Butts, All Saints Road and Diglis Bridge.
