DEDICATED fund-raisers at a Worcester company laced up their walking shoes and raised more than £2,500 for a hospice after trekking to Italy on a treadmill.
Staff from ACMI UK on Broomhall Lane completed the sponsored 1,663-kilometre walk – the distance from their city base to the company’s head office in Parma – over nine months.
A total of £2,550 was raised for St Richard’s Hospice, while the ACMI UK team also made donations to two other local charities.
Managing director Rick Gerrard said the company was delighted to aid the fund-raising efforts of the city hospice.
Rachel Jones, fund-raising manager at St Richard’s Hospice said: “We are so pleased the team at ACMI completed its fantastic challenge, it was no mean feat, so we are very impressed by their efforts!
“Every penny of their donation to us will go towards helping us provide our free, specialist care to patients, their loved ones and the bereaved across Worcestershire.
