TIME is running out for Worcester residents to have their say on what needs to be improved in the city.
In a bid to boost tourism, city council chiefs have created a quick and easy online survey asking people their opinion on the quality of the city’s cultural, heritage and sporting attractions.
With the cut off date on Sunday (October 23), the results will help to inform Worcester’s new five-year tourism strategy, which is due to launch in the early New Year.
Worcester City Council has already consulted extensively with the city’s business and tourism professionals with regard to the new strategy and have set out a vision up to 2021 to address the needs of the visitor, the tourism industry, the community and the environment.
Coun Geoff Williams, Cabinet Member for Economic Prosperity and Growth, said: “Listening to customers who have first-hand experience of visiting Worcester’s attractions or attending city events is absolutely essential to the future success of our tourism industry.
“I would urge local residents to take a few minutes to complete the survey and give us your views.”
Nearly 3.5 million people estimated to have visited Worcester in 2015, and more than 3,000 people are currently employed either directly or indirectly in the city’s tourism sector.
