ACTIVE youngsters from primary schools across Worcester limbered up for a morning of competitive athletics at Bishop Perowne CE College, thanks to the efforts of the school’s year nine GCSE PE students.
A total of 120 children from St Barnabas CE Primary School, St George’s CE Primary School, Perdiswell Primary School and Northwick Manor Primary School enjoyed activities including the foam javelin, chest throw with a weighted ball and vertical, long and triple jumps.
Going into the last track event any school could have won the day, but St Barnabas CE Primary School came out on top.
Headteacher Mark Pollard said: “Judging by the cheering that was going on in the sports hall throughout the morning, they all thoroughly enjoyed an example of the type of sports lessons they will receive when they move up to secondary school.
“Our students worked extremely hard on leading the activities and translating information learnt in the classroom to put on a fantastic morning of sport.”
