DRIVERS are being warned of long delays on the M5 southbound between Droitwich and Worcester following a van fire.
The carriageway was closed between junction five and six at about 2.45pm and highways chiefs have now confirmed all four lanes will need resurfacing because of the earlier blaze.
Attempts will be made to try and open one lane to release traffic caught within the closure.
There is a warning there is already five miles of congestion on the approach to the scene as traffic was brought to a halt while firefighters brought the fire under control.
