Magical evening is on the cards to raise cash for Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust

AN ENCHANTED riverside walk will be held this summer in the latest magical fund-raiser by the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust.

The evening of magic, mystery and memories for all the family, sponsored by Painters Law LLP, Wyre Forest, will begin at Worcestershire County Cricket Club at 4.30pm on Saturday, June 25 with entertainment including stilt walkers, acrobats, juggling and an LED light show.

There will also be a special enchanted memory area for those who have lost a loved one to leave a heartfelt message of remembrance.

Tina from HeadLight Fitness will be getting walkers ready with a warm-up before setting off on a 7k circular scenic route along the picturesque River Severn and Diglis Waterside at 6pm. A shorter route is available for those who would prefer a smaller stroll.

The charity is encouraging guests to wear fancy dress from woodland fairies, wonderful witches and wacky wizards – all mystical creatures very welcome – to make the walk even more spectacular and add to the magic of the evening. Both a face painter and glitter artists will also be on hand to add extra colour and twinkle.

Coralie Hudson, fund-raiser at GKCCT, said: “It is going to be such a magical event to behold bringing families together with a chance to remember loved ones, enjoy an uplifting atmosphere and help raise vital funds for Grace Kelly Charitable Cancer Trust.”

The charity also provides financial, practical, and emotional support to local families through their family support service, giving families a listening ear and support at the time when they need it most.

GKCCT are also asking guests to ask friends and families to sponsor them for taking part in the walk by setting up a fund-raising page:

Ticket prices only cover the administration costs of the walk, so every single penny raised by supporters will make a massive difference in helping children and their families facing childhood cancer.

Those who raise over £50 on June 24 will receive a free GKCCT T-shirt which can be collected on the event day to wear.

Tickets are £10 per adult and £5 for children (15 years and under) and can be purchased in advance at www.gkcct.org/riverside-worcester-city-walk-2022
