Make a date with going wild

Worcester Editorial 1st Mar, 2017   0

WORCESTERSHIRE Wildlife Trust is calling on budding photographers to snap the county’s wildlife for a chance to feature on the front cover of its 2018 calender.

With the conservation charity’s annual photography competition deadline closing on Monday, April 10, the Trust is urging residents to explore and capture the county’s diverse wildlife, before judges select 12 winning photographs to feature as A4 images in its popular 2018 edition.

One lucky photographer will also take the prized front cover of the calender, which raises funds for the Trust’s conservation work.

The team of judges include experienced wildlife photographers Jason Curtis and Pete Walkden, who are both previous winners of the competition.

Wendy Carter, communications manager for the Trust, said: “We’re really looking forward to seeing what this year’s competition brings.

“Over the last few years, the number of photos of wildlife taken in people’s gardens has increased. Not only are people helping and enjoying wildlife where they live, but it means you don’t have to go far to take a winning image.

“Whether a bee or a bird, wildflowers or blossom, a wildlife-friendly garden or a hidden wild place, we’re looking for images that inspire and enthuse, as well as reflect the glory of Worcestershire’s natural world.”
