Man in serious condition and officers injured in Warndon Villages incident

A MAN is in a serious but stable condition in hospital and two police officers have been injured following an incident in Warndon Villages.

In the early hours of this morning (Sunday) police were called to Great Oaty Gardens in the Warndon Villages area of Worcester following reports of a disturbance.

Two officers sustained injuries as they attempted to make an arrest.
During the incident a man suffered a medical episode and was transferred to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
A cordon is currently in place at the scene.
West Mercia Police has referred the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), who will now carry out an independent investigation.
