A THIEF stole a mobile phone from a man who was walking home after a night out on Lowesmoor Terrace.

The victim was approached by an unknown male asking for a lighter near the traffic lights at around 3.15am on Saturday, April 23.

When he was handed the lighter, the suspect did not use it and gave it straight back to him. He then looked over the victim’s shoulder before walking past him, placing his hand into the rear of the victim’s pocket and removing his mobile phone.

The offender, described as white man aged in his 20’s, of muscular build with short brown hair, is believed to have then left on foot in the direction of the town centre.

He was wearing a white shirt, distressed blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 621s of 23 April.
