POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in a car in Worcester.

The incident took place on Wednesday, March 16 between 10.10pm and 11pm in a car park opposite the Wheatsheaf Inn on Henwick Road.

A woman in her 20s was sat in a black BMW with a man who forced her to perform a sex act on him.

Police would now like to speak to anyone who may have seen the pair after they exited the vehicle. To those nearby at the time it may have looked like they were arguing.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to a man wearing a fluorescent jacket riding a bicycle, who may have witnessed the pair, and is believed to have made eye contact with the victim as he passed.

Following the incident the woman left the scene quickly on foot.

A 23-year-old man from Sutton Coldfield has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail until Thursday, May 19.

Anyone who may have information are urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident reference number 302S of Thursday March, 17.

Anybody who has been sexually assaulted and needs support can contact The Glade; a service for those have been raped or sexually assaulted in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. More details can be found on their website.
