ROAD users are being urged to look out for each other as part of National Road Safety Week.

Bosses from the Safer Roads Partnership in Warwickshire and West Mercia have called on residents to be aware of the darker evenings and mornings.

Advice includes pedestrians and cyclists ensuring they wear reflective or fluorescent clothing, having front and back lights on bikes, drivers checking their vehicle is in good working order and not using a phone or getting distracted while driving.

Communications manager Vicki Bristow said: “With Road Safety Week taking place this week (November 17 to 23) we feel it’s important to again highlight the issues we all face on the roads.

“Whether we are pedestrians, cyclists or driving motor vehicles we all have our part to play to ensure we are as visible as possible and to all look out for each other and share the road network in a courteous way.”
