CHARITY champions are being sought for the first ever Doughnut Dash to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice.

Finishers in the 5k or 10k event on Sunday (September 22) will be treated to a delicious glazed ring Krispy Kreme doughnut and a doughnut medal.

Participants can run, jog or walk the course which is set in Norton Village and surrounding areas to raise funds for the Worcestershire hospice.

Fund-raiser Jayne Sargeant said, “We’ve already had a fantastic response to the Doughnut Dash, with hundreds tempted by a tasty treat at the end. “

“The Doughnut Dash is a fun twist on a 5k and 10k and will be great for individuals, friends and families to take part and support our care.”

The event starts at 10am from Norton Parish Hall on Wadborough Road.

Entry in advance is £14 for adults and £7 for under 16s. On the day registrations will be open from 9am until 9.45am and £18 for adults £18 and £10 for under 16s.

The course is unsuitable for pushchairs and under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. St Richard’s will be providing vegan and gluten free options for advance bookings.

The hospice is also raising £5.3million as part of the Build 2020 Appeal and is part way through developing a bigger hospice, enabling more patients and families to be cared for in Worcestershire.
