Sessions on offer to help those with progressive illnesses

Worcester Editorial 1st Feb, 2019   0

WORCESTER residents living with a serious progressive illness and their carers have been invited to free information sessions on understanding pain.

St Richard’s Hospice will hold the sessions as part of their Living Well programme and each one is open to people without a referral and who aren’t already under the care of the hospice.

The first of the Love Books group meeting will be held next Thursday (February 7) and will focus on a particular theme where participants can share their love of literature.

Visitors on Thursday, March 7 can also learn how to make technology work for them.

Day services manager, Claire Gijselhart said: “We’re expanding and redeveloping our hospice to dramatically increase the range and depth of services we can offer to help more people with a serious progressive illness to live better, more independent lives.”

The group session will not have clinical support available and individuals attending need to be independent or have the support of a family member or friend.
