Taking a LFT at home is the first choice in Warndon

THE COVID-19 testing booths in Warndon Library are being removed.

The latest figures show more residents are choosing to take rapid flow tests at home or in one of the participating pharmacies or opticians.

Recently more than 1,000 tests were done at a pharmacy or opticians and the number of home testing kits collected from libraries far outweighs the number of those being tested in libraries. This shows that testing at home is now far more popular.

For those who prefer to be supervised, while taking their test, several pharmacies are offering supervised onsite tests in the local area.

One in three people with COVID-19 have no symptoms and are unaware they could be spreading the virus. Regular rapid flow testing is a quick and easy way to find out if you have the virus and need to self-isolate.

Early detection means you can self-isolate and prevent the spread. Even if you have been vaccinated, it is still important to keep everyone safe and prevent the spread of the virus.

Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health in Worcestershire, said: “We are very grateful to our residents and businesses who have regularly been using rapid flow testing to help keep everyone safe.

“For many people it is convenient to collect a box of tests and do them at home and our libraries and pharmacies are playing a vital role in providing these test kits.

“Alongside vaccination, testing is an important measure to tackle the spread of the virus.”
