PUPILS from a Worcester school have scored a success in reaching the finals of a county tournament.
The boy’s football team from Perdiswell Primary School played confidently throughout the English School’s National Cup to become Worcester champions and will represent the city at the county finals later this month.
After they stunned St Barnabas school by two goals to nil in the semi-final, just one goal in the back of the net was needed in the final to clinch victory against the team from Pitmaston.
The girl’s team was also successful in the competition, topping the league along with St Barnabas and Martley.
Headteacher John Tilley said: “We are very proud of the boys and girls who performed with great spirit against tough local opposition.
“As always, they played the games with great skill and sportsmanship and we look forward to the county finals.”
