There’s plenty to do

EVENTS to keep children active over the summer holidays have been launched at a city park.

Worcester Woods County Park has organised arts and crafts projects to be held in the meeting rooms next door to the Orchard Café and outdoor sports sessions, such as tennis, cricket, football and giant parachute fames for two to 18-year-olds.

The Worcester Volunteer Centre will hold Fun Squads that are free for five to 13-year-olds and feature circus skills, face painting, sports and games tomorrow (Thursday) and again on Wednesday (August 12).

Rhythm Time will be running sensory and music classes for babies and toddlers on Friday, August 21 and Monday, August 24.

Animal lovers can enjoy pony rides on the field on alternative Sundays from August 2 and Brentknoll Vets are holding their family fun day and dog show on Sunday, August 23.

Coun Anthony Blagg, county council cabinet member with responsibility for the environment, said: “Summer is the time when we can try and show the Countryside Centre and all that it has to offer, at its best.

“We’re pleased to be working in conjunction with the Orchard Café in order to put on these activities for children, in what is great county-wide tourist attraction.”

The only sessions that require booking are the Rhythm Time activities.
