A TODDLER who was seriously injured in a dog attack in Egdon has been transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

West Mercia Police have also confirmed three dogs have now been removed from the property and secured with no further risk to the public.

While investigations are ongoing, the dogs aren’t believed to be breeds banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act of 1991

The force were called by West Midlands Ambulance Service shortly before 11.20am yesterday (Monday) following a report of the two-year-old being injured.

After receiving initial treatment at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, he was transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital yesterday evening.

South Worcestershire local policing commander, Supt Rebecca Love, said: “This is a truly upsetting incident for all individuals who have been involved, and our thoughts remain with the child and his family at this difficult time.

“Incidents of this nature are rare in our area but we do understand how distressing they can be for the local community.

“A thorough investigation is underway and we will share any relevant updates in due course.”
