Tree-mendous way to recycle your tree and help hospice

Worcester Editorial 14th Dec, 2017   0

A COUNTY hospice has joined forces with businesses across south Worcestershire to deliver its Christmas tree recycling campaign.

St Richard’s Hospice – along with host of volunteers – is preparing to run the scheme again early in the New Year.

From Friday, January 12 to Sunday, January 14, teams of volunteers from a host of organisations will be out collecting trees from homes around Worcestershire before taking them to be recycled.

The hospice is running the campaign in partnership with the charity JustHelping and will ask people to make a donation in return for recycling their trees, helping support its free care to patients living with life-limiting illnesses.

Jayne Sargeant, St Richard’s Hospice fund-raiser, said: “Lots of people love a real Christmas tree at home for the festive season but the hassle and mess of removing them can be a downside.

Trees will be collected in the WR1, WR2, WR3, WR4, WR5, WR8, WR9, WR10, WR11, WR12, WR13 and WR14 postcode areas.

To arrange a collection and to make a donation, register your tree online by Tuesday, January 9 at just-helping.org.uk/who-we-support/st-richards-hospice
